Recently, IRCTC has hired 34 air hostesses to care for passengers on Vande Bharat Express- said to IRCTC M.D.
Vande Bharat Express was inaugurated/started on 15th February by Narendra Modi and runs between Delhi to Varanasi and it covers 850 km. distances in 8 hours only.

The train has been manufactured by Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai & designed with gleaming blue-nosed and fitted with the latest technology like high-speed wifi, touch-free Bio-Vaccum Toilet, GPS based passengers information system, LED lights, Laptop/Mobile charging points, automatic temperature adjustment system, automatic fire/smoke detection system.
The Air hostesses recruited from the Air Borne Air Hostess Academy, Delhi and they should wear a white shirt, Black trousers with a black sleeveless jacket, a silk scarf around the neck and with the hair smartly combed back. They welcome the passengers with a sweet smile and say ‘Namastey’ while boarding and ‘thanks’ during de-boarding. This project has run on a trial basis for a period of six months.

Salary of Train Hostesses:
The IRCTC spokesperson, Siddharth Singh said that IRCTC is paying Rs. 25000.00 per month as salary to the Air Hostesses at train Vande Bharat Express and the pantry staff would be paid around Rs. 8000.00 to 10000.00 in a month by the private players hired for providing services.
Indian Railway has started to run the private Train Tejas Express from 4th October 2019 with Airline style facilities. Tejas Express will run between Delhi to Lucknow and Ahmedabad to Mumbai for six days in a week.
The Indian Railway will provide the Train Driver, Guard, and RPF at the Tejas Express but catering and housekeeping will be managed by IRCTC. Moreover, IRCTC has planned for the tender of this work.
After the success of this project, the same facilities will provide for other premium trains like Rajdhani Express, Shatabdi Express, Humsafar Express etc.
